How David and Tina turned a love for smoked food and hospitality into a community favorite in Mukwonago.
Our Story
Dave and Tina met in 2010 at this very location when it was a local sports bar. Tina has always had a passion for the hospitality industry. She started working in restaurant kitchens when she was fourteen and worked her way up to eventually do every job in a restaurant; from janitor to manager. Dave is a local home grown Mukwonago boy with a true passion and talent for smoked food.
The man has two smokers at home, because one just wasn’t enough. When he introduced Tina to smoked food their brain child was born. “We want to provide people authentic smokehouse food, with a huge beer selection, and smoked cocktails to compliment the food.” And that is exactly what they are doing!
How the Name Came to Be
Tina named her dream after the love of her life, her husband David Alan O’Bryan. Where does the second Alan come from? Now that is a funny story. David has had a total of 5 concussions because of playing football in high school and his love of extreme snowboarding. The last concussion was a bad one. He was in the ICU for two days. Upon his arrival to the hospital, he proceeded to tell the hospital staff that his name was David Alan Alan.
Now, Dave has no memory of this due to the concussion, but his friends and Tina have never let him live it down. From then on any time Dave would do something silly, Tina would just look at him and say “OK, David Alan Alan.” And the name just kind of stuck. So when they were trying to think of names for the restaurant, they just figured, what is more silly than opening your own restaurant? So the name.
